No more bridles, PLEASE!!
A lot of today was spent cleaning bridles. I did probably close to 20, if not more, and they just kept coming! Doubles and snaffles and jumping ones, all with different amounts of cleanliness. It took me close to an hour to get through them all, then I cleaned more after night chores that were used throughout the day. It wasn't bad, but I know I'll be having nightmares about bridles for a few nights :)
It was very, very quiet today. Verne didn't have as many lessons as he did yesterday, Jeanie and Nora didn't have as many horses to ride as they did yesterday, and there were no breeding or vets to make things hectic. I sat around quite a bit today, just kinda doing busywork. I cleaned several stalls, bridles and water tubs just to keep moving. It was very low key and sorta boring.
I rode Weide for the first time. She is so much fun, kinda reminds me of the event horse that I leased a few summers ago. Both she and Hope have this presence of "look at me, I'm so pretty and you must all bow down to me" to them. Weide is strong, but I was able to figure her out fairly quickly. Jeanie had me working a lot on suppling, especially on the right since I'm always playing with the left rein, and keeping the connection to the outside rein. I did a few changes and some lateral work, but sadly no piaffe. Jeanie lunged Flagg and said that I was doing a good job with him, then had me get on and trot around a little, again working on establishing an outside rein connection to make turning easier. He was super.
Well, that's it for today. Like I said, it was very quite and low key, but be ready for news on breeding and such tomorrow!
