This was my first time riding w/Sharon & I really enjoyed my lesson. We worked mostly in canter; changes were quite good so we worked more on cantering squares, counter canter & doing lots of transitions from collected canter & pirouette canter to medium canter. Emphasis was on getting him rounder/deeper more from the base of his neck - which is challenging w/my Morgan. Using haunches in a lot at the canter was very helpful & she helped me fine "another canter" in Hero's more difficult direction. I really like that she is a stickler for detail & corrects position so as to better influence the horse. I have watched her competing for many yrs & she is as great a clinician as she is a rider. I would love to ride w/her again. Thank you Jamie for the opportunity to ride w/her. And, thank you Sharon.
I always enjoy riding with Sharon previously on Luna. This time was the first time she has seen Boomer. We worked on getting him rounder quicker and moving more forward at both the trot and canter. We worked on my position which helped immensely when I went to work the canter. By having me hold my hands low I was able to give more to Boomer and be more relaxed so he could swing his back. Thanks again Jamie and Sharon for teeming together and putting the clinic together. I can't wait for the next Sharon Clinic!!!
I always really enjoy my rides with Sharon! Sharon helped me to really expect more from Holly, and to push her "envelope" just a little more each day. Most of the lesson we spent working the canter, making it more straight and through. She had me use the counter canter as a way to really ensure that she was truly straight. Once I was able to go forward and back, while changing the bend, we were able to get nice straight forward changes. Thanks to Sharon and Jamie for this wonderful learning opportunity!
I had a great ride under Sharon's watchful eye. Boo Boo came out wound up like a top ready to bolt at the slightest provocation. Within 15 minutes we were focused and working in a nice frame with a swinging back. The exercises were directed towards slowing Boo's tempo, keeping my hands low and active, and playing with spirals to both control the tempo and encourage suppleness. Boo enjoyed the challenge and he softened his poll and jaw and settled into my hands. What a great feeling! It was a pleasure having Sharon teach me with her positive attitude, good eye, and valuable exercises. Thank you Jamie for bringing Sharon to Taproot. Hope to see her again!
